Nick commenced training with Construction Trade Qualifications back in 2020 undertaking CPC30211 Certificate III in Carpentry and transitioning into the current Qualification CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry completing this in August of 2023!

Nick jumped on the first opportunity he could to re-engage in training and continue his career goals to become a licensed builder commencing the CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction October 2023 in Northmead. Nick worked tirelessly with his trainer Joey to complete this training and completed all assessments within the set timeframe.

What were the best aspects of doing face-to-face training?

For me the best aspects were being able to ask ‘real life questions’ and get real advice from someone who ultimately has been through and achieved everything that I want. Being surrounded by like-minded individuals, who are passionate about being successful builders was also motivating and created a positive enjoyable environment. Being in a classroom also meant less distractions and the ability to put more focus and energy into the work being undertaken.

Why are you doing the Certificate IV in Building & Construction?

I really wanted to take my experience in building to the next level and bring more experience to my business.

Do you see a high demand for this qualification and training and this having a positive impact on the housing crisis?

I see high demand for this qualification and training as there are some builders out there that lack knowledge from not being provided the right training and gaining the correct experience, which ultimately affects the housing crisis in many ways.

How has this course influenced your business decisions moving forward?

This course has completely shifted my mentality and confidence in business as a whole. It has taught me so much and has really opened up my eyes into how to run a successful business to not just make revenue, but be profitable. This course has also brought out the best in me. Now I aspire to be the best licensed builder I can be.

Having completed this course, do you see your business expanding and employing Apprentices in the future?

Having completed this course, l have expanded my business by getting new leads and contacts. I have now employed two new apprentices and have plenty of work going on. I would not have been able to do this prior to this course, now I am more than comfortable doing this and knowing when to and how to expand.

I am a co-director in my carpentry and building business. We mainly do timber frameworks, from granny-flats, custom homes, duplexes all the way to extensions, renovations, decks, roofs, pergolas and everything in-between. We are a western Sydney based company, but definitely up to travelling. With countless positive reviews and customer feedback.
