MEGT and Construction Trade Qualifications (RTO 41158) welcome the Australian Government's new Advanced Entry Trades Training (AETT) program, which will expand nationally an approach delivered through New South Wales' Trade Pathways for Experienced Workers (TPEW) program.

MEGT CEO Matthew Hick, General Manager Strategy and Design Christopher Dale, and Head of Education and Training Louise Smith attended this week's announcement at TAFE NSW Randwick. They joined Federal Minister for Skills and Training Andrew Giles and NSW Minister for Skills, TAFE and Tertiary Education Steve Whan MP.

The AETT program will provide experienced workers with a faster pathway to nationally recognised trade qualifications through Recognition of Prior Learning and targeted gap training. The initiative builds on the success of the TPEW program, which has demonstrated the value of recognising existing skills and helping workers convert their industry experience into formal qualifications.

For workers, this creates new opportunities for career progression, mobility and further training. For industry, it means more qualified tradespeople available to help meet growing workforce demand and support the delivery of Australia's future homes and infrastructure.
